From January 1 to January 15, 2024, Vietnam's cashew exports surged, reaching 29.9 thousand metric tons (mt) valued at USD 161.7 million. This represents a substantial year-on-year (YoY) increase of 38% in volume and 32% in value. The growth is due to heightened global demand for cashews, with the market forecasted to expand by an average of 4.6% from 2022 to 2027. The increasing popularity of vegan and plant-based diets globally has further boosted demand for nuts and nut-based foods, including cashew nuts.
