While warm weather delays the increase in Brix level for the green kiwi varieties, rainy weather disturbs the harvest for yellow kiwi, which causes the official kick-off for the Greek Kiwi season to be postponed every week. The only markets that receive Greek kiwi are the Netherlands and Spain, but these are of the early green varieties with low Brix levels. The export season outside of Europe has yet to begin, and markets are running out of Kiwis. The first containers for the cross-Atlantic expedition are expected to leave Greece at the end of October for the yellow variety and at the beginning of November for the Hayward variety. Southeast Asia and Far East Asia will be served similarly.
