Imports of table olives in the main import markets fell 5% by the end of 2019, to 424,712 MT. However, since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic and until August last year, a 13.7% decrease has been observed when compared to the same period in 2019.
The main import markets recorded significant falls in imports of table olives in the period from March to August 2020, with the exception of Brazil, whose imports grew by 1.4%. The biggest drop was registered by the United States, falling 30.3% compared to the same period of 2019, according to the International Olive Council.
