How is the value chain formed in Brazil?

The value chain for coffee beans is built from the grower to the first processing, followed by the second processing, and then to the national seller who supplies the international buyer, and finally to the national and international retail.

Growers -> First Processing (Traders, Cooperatives) -> Second Processing (Soluble coffee companies, Roasting companies, Cooperatives) -> National Seller (Exporters, Cooperatives) -> International Buyer -> National and International Retail

  • First Processing: Removing the cherry part of the coffee
  • Second Processing: Milling (removing any remaining fruit or parchment from coffee
