Various factors affect the quality of mandarin, including climatic conditions, application of Plant Growth Regulators, and cultivar/rootstock. Aside from those, irrigation practices, sunlight, pruning, and post-harvest treatment also contribute to mandarin's quality.
  • Climatic conditions. In subtropical climates, cold temperatures can result in higher amounts of total soluble solids (TSS) in fruits.
  • Application of Plant Growth Regulators, can improve the size and set of Mandarins.
  • Cultivar/Rootstock can improve the overall quality of the produce.
