Who Are the Main Buyers of Costa Rican Pineapple?

The top buyer of Costa Rican pineapple is the United States with a 50% market share. The Netherlands as the main distribution hub usually ranks second, followed by Belgium, Spain, and Italy.
Most of Costa Rica's pineapples are headed to North America (50%) and the EU (39%) with the rest heading to the UK (5%) and other destinations (6%).
The six main markets represent 88% of total pineapple exports.
