Chile: Production of beef increases by 0.9% in the third quarter of 2025

Beef production in the July-September 2025 quarter increased by 0.9% year-on-year, totaling 48,454 tons, according to the Ferias y Mataderos bulletin published by the National Institute of Statistics (INE). In the same period, the slaughter of cattle—the process of slaughter and processing for human consumption—reached 183,611 heads nationwide, representing a 0.2% increase compared to the third quarter of 2024. As for pigs, the slaughter reached 1,408,008 heads, equivalent to a 2.7% year-on-year increase. The production of dressed meat in this segment reached 152,904 tons, consolidating an upward trend in the sector. Sheep totaled 3,103 heads slaughtered, with a 19.3% growth over twelve months. The production of dressed meat reached 55 tons, a figure that represents a 27.2% year-on-year increase.
