In response to adverse climatological phenomena in the Cusco region, the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri) reported that, through the Catastrophic Agricultural Insurance (SAC), it will allocate S/3,437,500 for the 2025-2026 agricultural campaign. This strengthens the support for farmers through SAC, a free insurance funded 100% by the Peruvian State that protects all crops and covers losses in the producers' plots in case of floods, torrential rains, droughts, frosts, hail, pests, and diseases. This insurance also covers events such as mudslides, landslides, high temperatures, strong winds, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, and fires.
