They say that one should put their eggs in different baskets, and soybean producers seem to have found a new area to do so thanks to the efforts of Pilu Giraudo, the president of Senasa who comes from the direct sowing ranks since her time at Aapresid.
Joke aside, Senasa updated this Friday the regulations governing the production of cured meats, in particular the one referring to the addition of additives, where soy protein can now have a prominent place.
Resolution 849/2025 states that, "due to the development that the production of cured meats has experienced and the technological and economic advances that have occurred in the activity," it is appropriate to introduce improvements "that can be achieved with different types of ingredients without compromising their genuineness or the expectations that consumers have."
