INTERFAX.RU - The quality of wheat from the 2025 harvest in Russia is higher than last year, reported Inna Zaychenko, the First Deputy Director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Federal Center for the Assessment of Safety and Quality of Agricultural Products" (Center for Agricultural Products) at the international conference "Modern Bread-Making - 2025" on Thursday in Moscow.
According to her, this was shown by the results of state monitoring conducted in 67 regions of the Russian Federation. "This is not a summary of analytical data, it is the result of research on samples that were selected directly in the fields, these are the most truthful figures at the time of harvesting. Samples were taken from 70 million tons, which constitutes 81% of the harvested grain," she said.
According to the center, the total wheat harvest in bunker weight amounted to 94 million tons.
As Zaychenko noted, the indicators may improve after post-harvest processing - after cleaning from weeds and harvesting small and broken grains.
"According to the conducted research, the share of 3rd class wheat at the beginning of November was 30.5% against 29% a year earlier. This is a positive signal, which indicates an improvement..."
