Fruit and vegetable price trend in Italy at 12 April

Sharp drop in asparagus prices after the Easter period. The prices of strawberries, oranges, peas and courgettes also fell. There was a slight increase for pears: in particular, demand for the Abate variety and broad beans increased. Thanks to the agreement with the Italian Telematic Commodity Exchange (BMTI) and Italmercati, we publish the survey of fruit and vegetable prices at the wholesale markets as of April 12, 2021. Below is a summary of the main types of fruit and vegetables on the market. Slightly falling prices for oranges which should, however, rise again in the coming days. On a trend basis, prices remain below the levels of last year for Sicilian Tarocco oranges.
