REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The government is accelerating the designation of Sustainable Food Crop Land (LP2B) to control the conversion of rice fields that continues to pressure national food security. This policy is expected to provide certainty for farmers and maintain the sustainability of food production. Coordinating Minister for Food Crops Zulkifli Hasan said, the acceleration is a strategic step to prevent the conversion of agricultural land. "Once this is done, farmers can rest easy because their rice fields can no longer be converted... They can plan long-term work more securely," he said after a Limited Coordination Meeting in Jakarta, Tuesday (11/11/2025). He targets the completion of the LP2B designation process this year.
