REPUBLICA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The government is simplifying a number of regulations to accelerate the People's Palm Oil Rejuvenation Program (PSR). This step is taken to maintain the productivity of palm oil, which is projected to decline if rejuvenation is not carried out immediately. Acting Director General of Plantations at the Ministry of Agriculture, Abdul Roni Angkat, conveyed that crude palm oil (CPO) production in 2025 is estimated to reach 48.12 million tons, up from 47.47 million tons in 2024. However, without rejuvenation or intensification of the People's Palm Oil Plantations, the production trend is predicted to decline from 2025 to 2045. "If the People's Palm Oil Plantations do not undergo rejuvenation and/or intensification, then starting from 2025 there will be a decline in production until 2045," he said at the 21st Indonesian Palm Oil Conference (IPOC) and 2026 Price Outlook in Nusa Dua, Bali, on Thursday (13/11/2025).
