According to a report from Kazakhstan's LSM, in the first three quarters of this year, Kazakhstan imported 100,900 tons of citrus fruits, a 3.2% increase from the same period last year, with a total import value of 49.7 million USD. The main import supplier is China, with 44,700 tons imported, a 1.6-fold increase year-on-year; followed by Pakistan, with 13,200 tons imported, a 20% decrease year-on-year. There are also supplies from Russia, Morocco, Egypt, Argentina, and South Africa, but in smaller quantities. Traditionally, Kazakhstan imports oranges from Egypt, with 2,500 tons imported (-18.5%), followed by Iran, with 2,900 tons imported (-29.2%). However, this year, China imported more oranges, reaching 9,600 tons (+41.4%), far exceeding the total from Egypt and Iran. This year, the popularity of imported lemons and limes in Kazakhstan has declined, with only 12,200 tons imported. Lemons and limes mainly come from China, with 9,400 tons imported. However, this figure is only half of the previous year, and imports from Turkey have also decreased to 817.2 tons. The import volume of grapefruits and pomelos decreased by 13.8% to 6,400 tons. Almost all of them come from China, with a total of 6,300 tons (-13%). Image source: pixabay2025 International Fruit and Vegetable Report. All rights reserved.
