More than 270 thousand hectares of soybean suffer damage in PR; 80 thousand will need to be replanted

In the state of Paraná, the 2025/2026 soybean crop is facing serious problems. As shown in the latest Soja Brasil program, it is expected that around 270 thousand hectares of the 5.776 million cultivated have been affected by hailstorms, gale-force winds, flash floods, and the extratropical cyclone that caused the formation of three tornadoes. Of this area, approximately 80 thousand hectares suffered severe damage and much of it will need to be replanted, which should increase the production cost for the affected producers. The remaining 190 thousand hectares are expected to see a reduction in production volume compared to initial expectations. The most impacted regions in the state are Campo Mourão, Londrina, and Maringá, where the losses are beginning to concern farmers and authorities.
