New tech-based irrigation systems improve production for 98 families in Puno

The Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri), through the Sub-sectoral Irrigation Program (PSI), completed and delivered two important technical irrigation projects benefiting 98 farming families from the districts of Juliaca (San Román province) and Lampa (Lampa province), in the Puno region, executed through the National Technical Irrigation Project (PNRT). The first project corresponds to the Business Management Group (GGE) Yocará, in Juliaca, where a technical irrigation system by multi-gates was implemented with an investment of S/ 4.6 million. This infrastructure allows for optimizing the distribution of water at the parcel level and guarantees a more precise and efficient delivery of the resource. The work, which intervenes 108.9 hectares dedicated mainly to improved pastures and forage oats, was completed on September 8 and transferred to the beneficiaries on September 17, 2025, benefiting 28 farming families.
