The Spanish Association of Designations of Origin, Origen España, and the Spanish Conference of Regulatory Councils for Viticulture (CECRV) held a meeting with the European Commission this Wednesday to analyze the future of Geographical Indications (GIs) in the current political framework and to assess the proposal for an Action Plan that promotes the protection and knowledge of these quality seals in the European Union. The president of Origen España, Ángel Pacheco, welcomed the attendees and emphasized "the value" of such events for "strengthening the promotion of the Geographical Indications system and creating a two-way communication space between the associations and the European administrations."
