Rice planting approaches the end in RS

The irrigated rice sowing in Rio Grande do Sul enters the final phase, driven by the dry weather period that has prevailed in recent days. According to the Conjunctural Report released by Emater/RS-Ascar this Thursday (4), producers have concentrated efforts on the "uniform establishment of the water layer to maximize the efficiency of herbicides and fertilizations." The institution emphasizes that the absence of rainfall and high temperatures have delayed this stage by increasing the water demand for soil saturation. Where irrigation is already stabilized, the crops show good performance, favored by the available solar radiation and the adequate response to nitrogen fertilization.
