In the 2021/2022 agricultural year, Russia achieved a record high in pea exports, exporting 1.4 million tons, a 65% increase from the previous year, making it the fifth largest exported crop. This represents a significant rise from the 588 thousand tons exported two years earlier. The country shipped to 56 countries, including increases in exports to Turkey, Bangladesh, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Belgium, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, and Malaysia. Turkey emerged as the largest buyer, doubling its imports to 394,000 tons, while Bangladesh quadrupled its imports to 282,000 tons.
