Russia exported a record 1.4 million tons of peas in 2021/2022 agricultural year

Russia in 2021/2022 agricultural year (July-June) exported 1.4 million tons of peas, which is 65% more than in the previous agricultural year. This was reported by the Grain Quality Assessment Center (a department of the Rosselkhoznadzor). This is a record figure, the report says. In the 2020/2021 agricultural year, exports amounted to 863 thousand tons, a year earlier - 588 thousand tons. In the top 10 exported crops, peas rose from 7th to 5th place. The share in exports also hit a record - 2.8% against 1.5% in the 2020/2021 agricultural year. As the Center notes, exports were ahead of schedule throughout the entire agricultural year. Peas were shipped to 56 countries of the world (47 countries in 2020/2021 and 49 in 2019/2020 agricultural years). At the same time, the demand for this leguminous crop increased from 41 countries.
