The largest fig project in the Black Sea region: 50 million TL in revenue will be given to girl children

A giant project initiated with the planting of fig saplings on a 100-dönüm plot of land in Tekkeköy district of Samsun aims to increase the region's agricultural production capacity while also supporting the education of young girls. The expected income of 50 million TL from the fig orchard, which will yield approximately 250 tons of produce within five years, will be entirely transferred as scholarships to female students starting university. Tekkeköy Municipality, in collaboration with the Amasya Forest Region Directorate, transformed a 100-dönüm area of abandoned thorny land in Kababürük Mahallesi into a fig orchard, planting nearly 4,000 purple eggplant figs native to the region. The income from this orchard, expected to reach approximately 50 million TL with a full yield of 250 tons of produce in five years, will be given as scholarships to girls who have just entered university.
