By Thais Porsch and Laís Adriana São Paulo, 08/12/2025 - The president of the USA, Donald Trump, stated this Monday that American farmers will receive up to $12 billion in subsidies and will have the support of other economic policies, including state tax cuts on small farmers. Trump added that the USA intends to use a "small portion of the tariffs, which have already helped lower the fiscal deficit," to form the assistance funds for farmers, while making the announcement at a round table with several representatives of the sector, the Secretary of Agriculture, Brooke Rollins, the Secretary of the Treasury, Scott Bessent, and the White House Economic Advisor, Kevin Hassett.
