Description
The average production yield per year of the premium vanilla bean is 75 tonnes. The cultivation method is fully organic. The produce is harvested between the months of August and November. They are harvesting throughout the year under favourable weather conditions. Vanilla is successfully grown from sea level to 600 m altitudes, although it bears at over 1400 m in the Bougainville region. The daily temperature range for its optimal growth is 21–32 °C, with an average around 27 °C. Annual rainfall should be in the range 1700–2500 mm and evenly distributed throughout the year. The distinctive flavour and fragrance of good quality vanilla are developed by a slow curing process that is labour intensive and takes three to six months to complete.

The antioxidants also shield the immune system, decrease body stress and encourage faster recovery from injuries or illnesses. Some people add vanilla to food to help stop tooth decay.
