Makkah Traders stored the onions in a dry and moisture controlled environment in the warehouse. Onions are packed in 8 kg - 1 kg mesh bags an stored on wooden planks. The consignments are ready within 4-7 days of order confirmation. Sea freight is the preferred delivery method by the company and the nearest port is the Karachi Port.

The company pays special attention to size, colour, taste and ensure that the onion is produced 100% organically. They undertake a regular inspection of the production process and follow prescribed quality control procedures. The company is certified by the HACCP and ISO 9002.

The average production per year is 5000 metric tons. Onions are harvested all year round. the cultivation and harvesting process is 100% organic. Onions are usually planted outdoors in cool weather. Ideally, the temperatures shouldn’t dip below 28°F (-2°C) after planting. The soil needs to be well-drained, loose and rich in nitrogen.

Onions belong to the Allium family of plants, which also includes chives, garlic, and leeks. The structure and mechanical properties of onions are important factors affecting their textural quality. The onion bulb consists of several layers of pigmented, papery scales surrounding fleshy storage scales that comprise an upper epidermis, an intermediate parenchyma tissue, and a lower epidermis. Makkah Traders offer 100% organic fresh whole Red Onions. The onions are available in 45 mm to 55 mm or 35 to 55 mm size. The vegetable can be used for consumption or for further processing. It can be stored for 15 days in dry room temperature and fresh air.
