Description
The average production yield per year is 60 to 100 ton for cloves. They can be harvested all year long and do not have any specific time or month of harvesting. The flower of cloves bloom during all months and are usually hand-picked by the farmers and cultivators. Cloves are cultivated in the mountainous regions of Indonesia. A humid tropical climate with an annual rainfall of 150 - 250 cm and a mean temperature range of 20°C to 30°C and elevation up to 1000 m are most suitable. Deep rich loams with high humus content and laterite soils are the best suited for the cultivation process.

Description
Cloves are the flower buds of the clove tree, an evergreen also known as Syzygium aromaticum. Found in both whole and ground forms, this versatile spice can be used to season pot roasts, add flavour to hot beverages, and bring spicy warmth to cookies and cake. Cloves are best known as a sweet and aromatic spice, but they have also been used in traditional medicine. Cloves contain fibre, vitamins, and minerals, so using whole or ground cloves to add flavour to your food can provide some important nutrients.

Indonesia is widely known for its cloves harvested from the numerous islands which have highly fertile soils.
