Description
Sustineo Magnus occurs from June to November and the company produces an average annual yield of 50MT, utilizing a staff complement of between 150-200 women. Traditional methods are used to extract nuts from shea fruits. The nuts are then washed and sun-dried to sort for quality. The outer skins are removed through a parboiling process, followed by a grinding process. The ground nuts are then roasted over an open flame before going through a simple milling processing machine that squeezes the oil from the shea residues. The dark-brownish paste is then kneaded by hand to produce quality shea butter. The oil is then cooled, weighed, and packaged.
