Vietnam grades cashew nuts quality based on size, color, and rupture. They are divided into categories and classified by symbols. Every type has a specific price based on size (big, small, or cracked), and color (light, yellow, or brown).

Moreover, every type of cashew nut has a specific price tag based on the size of the cashew nut (big or small), including color (light, yellow, or brown). A cracked nut also has unique pricing, while a large nut will cost higher than a small nut.

The number signified how many kernels are there in 1 lb of cashew (Higher the number, smaller the cashew). W320 cashew is the mainly produced/ most preferred cashew kernels in the Vietnam and international markets such as the US, Netherlands, China, and UAE.

Domestic consumption packages often contain Class 2 cashew nuts and a mix of whole, split and broken kernels, and pieces. Cashews that are exported are Class 1 or extra grade.


- W180: King of cashew nuts. 120-180 cashews per pound are the largest and most

- W210: Jumbo cashew nuts which are expensive

- W240: Attractive alternative in the middle price segment

- W450: cheaper than 320



Use:

W: direct consumption; high class

S: direct consumption for 2nd tier brand or used as ingredient

B: ingredient for candy bars, pastries, and the likes
