Guava is cultivated in 20 Mexican states mainly in the Pacific, North, Gulf & Central Region, however the main commercial producing states are Aguascalientes, Baja California Sur, Colima, Chiapas, Durango, Guanajuato, Guerrero, Hidalgo, Jalisco, Estado de Mexico, Michoacán, Morelos, Nayarit, Puebla, Queretaro, Tabasco, Veracruz, and Zacatecas.
The state of Aguascalientes produced 100,051 T equivalent to 30.8% of the total national production, and the state of Zacatecas produced 47,101 T equivalent to 14.5% of the total national production.
