Limes are usually at their peak from May to October, but when grown in containers limes are able to flourish in almost any climate at any time of year.
Key limes (Mexican) often ripen year-round, fruiting in late winter and spring as well as the main ripening period in summer through early winter. Bearss limes (Persian) also become ripe around August but can ripen right through to early spring, usually March.
