Top producing countries of palm oil were Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand in 2019. In terms of region, Asia dominated the palm oil production.
The leading country of palm oil production is Indonesia with a 58% share of global production yielding a total of 42.5 million MT of palm oil. Followed by Malaysia and Thailand with 26% and 4% share of global production respectively, with the volume of 19 million MT and 2.8 million MT respectively. This means that Asia is the dominating region in palm oil production as it acquires 88% of palm oil production.
