- Key Indicators: Global freight prices increased by 3.46% month-on-month (MoM) in Aug-24, averaging USD 5,257.46 per 40-foot container. This rise was largely due to congestion and strikes impacting major shipping routes. Meanwhile, the World Bank's fertilizer index saw a slight decline of 0.27% MoM, dropping to 120.34 points. This decrease was primarily driven by a 2.21% MoM fall in potassium chloride prices, which outweighed a 1.22% MoM increase in diammonium phosphate (DAP) prices.

- Avocado: Avocado prices in Spain and Chile showed substantial increases in Aug-24, driven by adverse weather influences. On the other hand, favorable weather in Mexico has kept prices stable despite a recent dip. Spain's avocado market is witnessing price increases due to supply constraints and rising demand, and a positive price trend has been ongoing since May-24. Chile's avocado presence in the European market is expected to gain more growth by the end of September.

- Grape: Chile, Peru, and South Africa's fresh grape markets showed positive growth, with all the observed countries achieving wholesale price increases. Notably, international demand is driving the price boost. Besides the usual target of European countries, the Chilean government continued initiatives to strengthen its presence in Asia, with various efforts like the official visit to China to increase fresh grape exports.

- Mango: Wholesale prices of mango in central Latin American countries decreased in Aug-24, driven by increased supply, except in Mexico, where balanced supply coupled with sustainable demand maintained a stable trend. Brazil took over Peru’s position in the global mango trade in the previous months. Nevertheless, initial estimates indicate a recovery of Peru’s mango volume, leading to an expansion of exports in September and the following months. Mexico continues to improve mango production infrastructure, focusing on sustainability and diversifying exports, expanding in Asian markets.
