Mexico has positioned itself as the largest supplier of fruit in the analyzed region, with a 58.4% share, managing to dispatch a total volume of 1,227,070 tons during this year. Peru, for its part, is in second place with a 25.2% share in exports, and with a total volume shipped in the last season of 557,010 tons. In third place, with a 6% share in shipments and a total export volume of 126,508 tons of avocado, is Chile. The main Chilean export and production variety is Hass, with a 99.7% share among the varieties produced. As for the main markets for Chilean avocado exports, their configuration has changed over time. 20 seasons ago the main destination was the United States; however, since the 2012/2013 season the main market has been Europe (67.7% share in shipments) and to a lesser extent Latin America (18.5% share in shipments).
