[Korean Farmers' News Agency, Reporter Kang Jae-nam] Jeju Special Self-Governing Province announced that it will utilize drone aerial imagery to conduct a precise survey of the crop cultivation area across 56,000 hectares of farmland in Jeju. This survey will be carried out from this month until February of next year. The drone filming will be conducted twice, and double cross-checks and on-site surveys will be implemented concurrently to enhance accuracy. The results of the drone observations will be used as the basis for calculating the cultivation area and expected production volume of major winter vegetables, and the data will be utilized to establish supply and demand strategies to maintain appropriate prices for winter vegetables. Kim Hyeong-eun, Director of the Agricultural, Livestock, and Food Bureau, stated, "Through the precise cultivation area survey using drones, the accuracy of agricultural statistics will be improved."
