African swine fever spread to 18 communes and towns in Quang Tri province. The agricultural sector is fiercely implementing epidemic prevention plans.
According to the latest report of the Quang Tri Department of Livestock and Veterinary Medicine, African swine fever has appeared in 3 districts including Trieu Phong district, Quang Tri town and Dakrong district. Among them, Trieu Phong district has 16/18 communes and towns with pigs positive for African swine fever. To date, authorities in Quang Tri province have destroyed over 30 tons of pigs, including over 18 tons of sows and male pigs. The locality with the most destruction was Trieu Phong district with nearly 30 tons. Localities have used over 300 liters of chemicals and more than 2 tons of lime to disinfect and treat the farming environment.
