Dr. Ahmed Al-Attar, Director of the Central Administration for Agricultural Quarantine, confirmed to Al-Mal that Egypt has 22 origins for importing wheat and strategic commodities in European, Latin American and Asian countries, and imports are not affected by their diversity. Al-Attar pointed out that a study is underway to open the markets of Mexico and Pakistan during the coming period. The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, represented by the Institute of Field Crops, announced that the state has prepared a proactive plan to increase productivity of the wheat crop through the expansion of agricultural areas and transactions through 28 research stations spread across the governorates and the use of modern technology in agriculture.
