Strategie Grains analysts increased the overall estimate of rapeseed production in the EU in 2023/24 MY by 0.6 million tons compared to the previously announced figure - to 19.5 million tons, which is generally consistent with the result of the previous season.
It is noted that the adjustments were made based on better than expected harvests in Romania, the Baltic countries, Germany, Spain and Italy.
At the same time, the estimate for the sunflower seed harvest in the EU in 2023/24 MY decreased by 0.2 million tons per month, to 10.1 million tons, which is still ahead of the previous season’s result by 0.8 million tons.
Soybean production in the European Union is projected at 2.9 million tons (+0.4 million tons per year).
