Before the meeting, the meeting participants carefully examined various objects of the scientific expeditionary base, including a meteorological post, a museum of the Cossacks, ethnography and culture of the Azov region, a fish food testing laboratory, a cryopreservation laboratory and a laboratory with a recirculating water supply installation, as well as the aquarian complex of the Southern Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. During the tour, it was noted that in the aquacomplex, scientists are developing technologies for the conservation and restoration of rare and endangered fish species of the Azov-Black Sea and Caspian basins. In the conditions of a closed water supply system, valuable species of fish - sturgeon - are grown in pools.
