Australia is investing in a five-year project led by the Australian Table Grape Association (ATGA) to boost its global table grape market competitiveness. Funded by the Australian government, the project aims to enhance industry sustainability and export efficiency, building on previous successes that have seen exports grow from 30,000 tonnes in the early 2000s to 152,500 tonnes in the 2019-2020 season. Despite challenges such as market instability and high production costs, the industry aims to maintain its strong export position through initiatives like the first Global Grape Convention in 2024, which brought together Chile and Peru to address industry challenges.
