With the aim of preserving rainbow trout biomass and strengthening food security in high Andean communities, the Regional Production Directorate (Direpro) of Ayacucho and the District Municipality of Santillana signed a cooperation agreement to promote restocking with trout fingerlings in this jurisdiction. This inter-institutional agreement contemplates a series of coordinated actions to promote sustainable aquaculture development, guarantee access to quality protein, and preserve local aquatic ecosystems. For this purpose, the main planned activities include evaluating water resources, trout planting, responsible fishing training, and the formation of community surveillance committees.
