You have to beekeeping in increasingly difficult conditions and it is becoming less and less worth it. The economics of beekeeping are declining year by year. The amount of work is given, production costs are also rising in this sector, with a growing risk factor. Currently, 16,000 beekeepers take care of the domestic herd of about 900,000 bee families. 20-30 types of honey can be collected in Hungary, the most important are acacia, rapeseed, sunflower, phacelia, linden and chestnut. Around 2010, it was still a lucrative sector, with many opting for an income-supplementing occupation, but with the right farm size, it was also able to provide a livelihood with small compromises. At the time, they feared the profession was aging, and then many of them looked like scapegoats from the young farmer’s tender as a scapegoat.
