Brazil Receives Japanese Mission to Assess Animal Health Defense

Brazil received an official mission of auditors from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan (MAFF). The visit is part of the risk analysis process conducted by the Japanese government within the framework of negotiations to open the Japanese market to Brazilian beef. The program included activities in three states: Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul, and Paraná. The mission began with a meeting at the headquarters of the Secretariat of Agricultural Defense (SDA) in Brasília, with the presence of the Secretary of Agricultural Defense, Carlos Goulart, and the Director of the Animal Health Department, Marcelo Mota. In Santa Catarina, the Agriculture and Livestock Superintendence (SFA/SC) and the Integrated Agricultural Development Company of Santa Catarina (Cidasc) presented the administrative and operational structure of the Official Veterinary Service (SVO).
