The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA) of Brazil has welcomed Nuanlaong Srichumpon, the president of the Thai Cattle Breeders and Exporters Association (TLEX), to explore ways to enhance agricultural cooperation between Brazil and Thailand. The focus of the discussions has been on animal health, genetics, and market access. The Thai delegation learned about Brazil's approaches to foot-and-mouth disease surveillance and cattle traceability. Discussions were also held with the Brazilian Association of Meat Exporting Industries (ABIEC) regarding the potential reopening of the Thai market. The delegation attended the 90th International Zebu Breeds Exhibition in Uberaba, where they engaged with the Brazilian Association of Zebu Breeders (ABCZ) on genetic innovation, sustainable practices, and other topics. The visit concluded with visits to a meatpacking unit authorized to export to Thailand and a model farm specializing in genetic improvement and sustainable management.
