Brazil's corn harvest for 2024-25 is expected to be the second largest in the country's history, with a projection of 127 million tons, according to a study by Joana Colussi, Gary Schnitkey, and Nick Paulson from the Department of Agricultural and Consumer Economics at the University of Illinois. The volume surpasses last year's record and previous estimates, driven by favorable rainfall in April and May, which benefited the main producing regions of the second crop, responsible for 78% of the total harvest.
