In January 2025, Brazil achieved a record high in its agricultural exports, with chicken exports reaching 443,000 tons, a 9.4% increase from the previous year, and pork exports surpassing 100,000 tons for the first time. Revenue from chicken exports amounted to US$826 million, a 20.9% increase, while pork exports generated US$238 million, a 19.6% increase. The main importers included China, the Philippines, and the UAE for chicken, and China, Hong Kong, and Japan for pork. Paraná, Santa Catarina, and Rio Grande do Sul were the leading provinces for chicken exports, and Santa Catarina was the largest contributor to pork exports. The Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA), led by Ricardo Santin, played a key role in promoting these exports at the Atlanta IPPE 2025 and is actively combating global challenges in the poultry industry. Santin's involvement in the World Poultry Council and the Latin American Poultry Association underscores Brazil's commitment to international cooperation and combating avian influenza.
