Cassava/Cepea: Supply is aligned with industrial demand in Brazil

Updated Sep 25, 2023
The supply and demand for cassava for processing were aligned last week. According to Cepea researchers, industries continued to limit crushing due to low liquidity in the starch and flour markets. Furthermore, the low availability of areas for harvesting did not allow for an increase in supply. Most of the crops have already been pruned, and/or producers have prioritized other activities. As a result, the pressure on values has been lower in recent days. The nominal term average (post starch) was R$ 605.52/t (R$ 1.0531 per gram of starch), a weekly decline of 1.2%.
