Cherry picking season has opened in Ukraine

Despite the cold and protracted spring, the cherry sales season in Ukraine started without delay. According to the daily monitoring data of the EastFruit project, the first wholesale batches of early cherries from Ukrainian farms have already appeared on the market. Today, cherries are sold exclusively in small wholesale at prices of UAH 60-85/kg ($1.64-2.32/kg), which actually corresponds to the prices for these stone fruits at the beginning of the season last year.
We should also note that many fears of Ukrainian gardeners are caused by abundant rainfall, which is currently observed in most regions of the country, which may negatively affect the quality of berries. At the same time, we would like to remind you that in the current season, the weather has already brought unpleasant surprises to Ukrainian gardeners in the form of frosts in April and May, as a result of which the production of cherries in the country in the current season will be smaller than previously expected. ...
