The good trend of the 2020 vintage emerged during the webinar organized by the European Chestnut Network Last week, the European Chestnut Network organized its first ever webinar on the current chestnut production, in relation to the market prospects in Europe and the impact of the health crisis. On 7 October Eurocastanea, the European chestnut network, accommodated 70 operators in the sector, including producers, ops and market operators from 8 different countries, at a common virtual table. The participants, from Austria, Spain, France, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Morocco and Chile connected via the web to follow this mini conference on chestnut production 2020 and the impact of covid-19 on consumption. Three main themes emerged: tree health, new plantations and production data.
