With increasing challenges to farmers, customization has once emerged as an essential solution. Rabat - Belkassem Boulouha, a professor at the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), highlighted some of the factors that affected production during the 2021/22 cycle. Climate was the most significant of these, with temperatures becoming more extreme over the past year, rendering it difficult to get good yields in most areas. Rainfalls (or the lack thereof) and hot winds have also affected yields, Boulouha added. Morocco suffered its most severe drought in decades during the 2021/22 season, with temperatures approaching 50 C degrees and dry hot winds that led to decreasing output throughout all crops.
