Colombia's coffee production saw a significant increase of 41% in January, reaching 1.35 million 60-kg bags, due to favorable weather conditions, as reported by the National Federation of Coffee Growers. This marks a notable rise from the same period last year. The country also experienced a 23% increase in coffee exports, totaling 1.15 million bags. Despite these positive figures, there was a decline in production and exports compared to December. The country, which is the world's third-largest coffee producer, has a production capacity of approximately 14 million bags per year and relies heavily on coffee for its economy, with around 540,000 families dependent on the industry.
