In the structure of imports of fruits, berries and nuts, the main part is occupied by such positions as citrus and bananas, which account for 39% and 29%, respectively, of total imports of fresh fruit and berry products. For 6 months of 2020, Ukraine imported 181.7 thousand tons of citrus with a total value of $ 129.3 million. For comparison, a year earlier, similar figures were 169.7 thousand tons and $ 101.9 million, respectively. Foreign purchases of bananas compared to last season also increased. If in the first half of last year 149.2 thousand tons of these fruits were imported, with a total value of $ 85 million, this season deliveries reached 174.3 thousand tons in quantity and $ 96.2 million in value terms. It should be noted that imports of other fruits and berries that are not grown in Ukraine have also increased.
