Coop report 2023 shows fruit and vegetable consumption set to fall in Italy

17% of Italians intend to reduce the quantity of fruit and vegetables consumed in the next 12-18 months. The fruit and vegetable consumption of Italian families is destined to reduce as they are forced to make significant cuts due to the very strong increase in inflation. For fruit and vegetables, the projections at the end of 2023 foresee a decline in volumes of 7.5% compared to 2022 and 15.2% compared to 2021, equal to over 15 kilos per person.
